Worthwhile Websites
As many of our club members know, Anne and Charles present an excellent E-mail/Internet SIG every third Thursday each month.
During these SIGs websites are often visited and recommended as worth viewing.
I recently thought maybe there are other members who have not attended these gatherings and might have an interest in knowing about some of these very worthwhile websites.
As an example... would you like to know what the weather is like, and will be like, here in our very own locale, right now.
Start with yahoo.com. When the home page appears look for the Info line, click on Weather, then in the text entry box type in 92653.
The next page to appear will show "Laguna Hills Today" weather, and also include a 5 Day Forecast along with other interesting weather info.
You could save this in your Bookmarks/Favorites folder for easy access. Also, you might consider installing it as your opening home page so each time you connect online this information
will be the first thing you see.
Want to know the official U.S. time, without making a phone call... visit the www.time.gov home page. Click on a time zone... the page shows you
the precise Time, Day and Date, and also a world map indicating where the sun is shining and where the world is in darkness.
Are you a puzzle person... visit www.thinks.com. The home page offers you all kinds of free brain games,
including a Daily Crossword, Daily Jigsaw, Daily Word Search, and Daily Codebreaker.
Are you a serious shopper... visit www.dealtime.com. This site offers you the opportunity to compare products, prices and stores.
The visit could save you significant bucks but you do want to be sensible about your store choice. Be sure to read related reports.
Are you a film watcher, maybe an Encore fan, like myself... start with yahoo.com. When the home page appears look for the Fun line,
click on TV, click on the tab TV Listings, scroll to ENCOREP 66 and click on it.
The page will present you with a complete lineup for today, or any other day. Use this path for other stations as well.
