Macintosh Learning Center

August/September 2004    Literature Rack is loaded with good stuff...

Third Floor, Southeast corner
Leisure World Community Center
Laguna Woods Town Centre
Hours: 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday

Among the many opportunities to learn that are available to you at our Macintosh Computer Learning Center is the opportunity to select Mac related handouts from the Literature Rack.

When viewing the Rack you will usually find extra copies of our club newsletter, “ApplePEALINGS,” in addition to a selection of printed materials you may take for your very own personal reference and instruction.

If you are a Beginner or new Mac user... read the “Introduction to the Macintosh Computer” handout to get started. You will also find another sheet, “Introduction Glossary,” a big help when trying to understand words and terms used in computer use.

If you still don't understand the difference between Save and Save As..., look for the reprint of iMac Feedback...#13 which carefully explains the difference.

You will also find six different YOU-DO-IT practice exercises that have been designed to give you easy-to-follow, step-by-step instructions to do hands-on work using many of the programs offered in AppleWorks, such as:

#1 Word Processing... LETTER
#2 Drawing... CREATING A LETTERHEAD
#3 Drawing... THANK YOU NOTE
#4 Drawing... BIRTHDAY GREETINGS SHEET
#5 Spreadsheet... general functions
#6 Database... MAKING ADDRESS LABELS

On your next visit to the Learning Center we suggest you take a closer look at the many useful items available to you on the Literature Rack.

You might also take a moment to view some of the interesting materials posted on our Bulletin Boards. The unique and very colorful images created by members of the recent digital photography class presented by Rita Zhao are now on display.
